Monday Musings

Look at my super cute new wall decal in the kitchen. I am totally in love with it. The kitchen has accents of red and teal so I got this in red. I think it’s the perfect addition to the kitchen. I bought it from the Welcoming Walls Etsy shop. I just love Etsy. So many creative people out there making lovely things.

  • After a few months of sporadic Zumba classes, I’m switching things up a bit and trying a Barre class this morning. Have you ever taken one? It looks like it could be a really good workout. I’m looking for something that does a bit more toning. We’ll see how it goes!
  • After reading the Book Thief, I’ve moved on to The Kitchen House by Kathleen Grissom. So far it is fabulous. The writing style reminds me a bit of the Help. It too is set in the south but on a plantation in the late 1700s and early 1800s. I am a sucker for historical fiction. What is your favorite type of book to read?
  • I forgot to mention that Kellan had his 15-month check up a couple weeks back. The Dr says all is good. He is in the 90th percentile for height and his verbal skills are ahead of the curve. Speaking of verbal skills his new word is “bumble bee”, although it sounds like “mummble mee”. He says it when he wants to watch this video. (warning: if you have children around they just might request this all the time and then you’ll be singing buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz, buzz as you are trying to fall asleep at night.)
  • I’m suppose to attend a conference this summer and my boys were going to come with me, but after checking out plane ticket prices it looks like I might take a weekend by myself and go. Leaving Kellan for the first time…ahhhh. Parents who have had to do that with a young child, how did you deal with it?
