Monday Musings

Giveaway Care Package

Happy Monday everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend. We spent the weekend visiting family and friends in our home town. It was relaxing and fun at the same time. But after a long drive home in the pouring down rain, I’m glad to be back in our cozy little house sipping some hot apple cider and catching up on Once Upon A Time. Does anyone else watch that show?

  • Thank you everyone for entering the giveaway! I used random.org to select the winner of all the goodies above and it is:

“I couldn’t do without my Wustof Trident Chef’s Knife…” – Traci B.  Congrats Traci! I’ve emailed you at the address provided.

  • So I went to the movies and saw Sinister this weekend with a friend. And while I did find it a bit slow in parts, it did provide quite a good scare. I may have even screamed out loud in the theater. But lets not talk about that…
  • Confession time, I haven’t started reading our book club book. I will I promise. We were dealing with colds, birthdays and a little traveling these past couple of weeks so I haven’t had the time. Has anyone else started? What are your thoughts? Liking it?
  •  I saw a Christmas commercial on TV last Thursday! I know that October is half over but really, let us enjoy Halloween and Thanksgiving first :)
  • I’m starting to plan Kellan’s first birthday party. We’re doing a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse theme. I am trying to decide if I should bake the cake myself or order one. I’m leaning towards baking it myself since it is his first birthday. What would you do?
  • Parenthood. Parenthood. Parenthood. It is bringing me to tears every week! If you watch what are you thinking about this season so far?

  • First of all, Kellan is, I am sure, the most beautiful and smartest baby ever to have lived. However, he won’t know if you make a cake or not. Some years from now you can show him a picture of it and say you made even if you didn’t. He won’t love you any less when he gets to the age when he will know that cake was store-bought. Buy him a really cute toy instead.

Parenthood is making me cry just about every episode! I’m a sap anyway, but breast cancer stuff especially gets me. I’m enjoying it though. The characters are really complex, and I can honestly see them all as a family.

  • Arline

I would make the cake he will dive into…I would order for the cake to share.

  • I’ve been impressed that Parenthood is not dwelling overmuch on the breast cancer. FWIW. :)

  • Ashley

I love once upon a time! I love how they started the season off. First together, now apart again! Not gonna lie, i cried abit when Prince Charming and Snow White had Emma in a group hug :’-).. Hopefully the season proves to be wonderful. Any thoughts on who dr. whale might be?

  • I bought a jar of Biscoff Spread…love it more than peanut butter.

  • I went out and bought a “1” cake mold and will be making the cake. Actually pretty excited about it :)
Ashley- I am still a couple episodes behind so not sure about Dr. Whale. But I’m hoping for a good show this season! :)
Nancy- Isn’t it to die for?!

  • I haven’t started the book either! I think my excuse of having a baby this month is a pretty good one though :-) I think I might not get to it by the end of the month, but it sounds so good that I do plan to read it eventually, that counts right?!

  • That totally counts Robyn :) And congrats on the baby!!! Boy? Girl?
