Kielbasa, Peppers and Onions

Kielbasa, Peppers and Onions is the easy recipe you need for your busy weeknight! Serve as is for a low-carb meal or pile on crusty bread for a sandwich!

We all need one of those recipes in our arsenal that we can whip up in no time. One that can be made in 20 minutes. And I have got you covered today because this Kielbasa, Peppers and Onions is just that.

This is really one of those non-recipe recipes. You only need a handful of ingredients and two steps and voila! Dinner will be on the table.

What ingredients you’ll need:

  • KIELBASA: When you buy kielbasa, you can buy beef, pork or turkey. For this recipe, I prefer to buy turkey. It keeps things a bit lighter.
  • GREEN BELL PEPPER: If you want to make it a bit more colorful you could use red, orange or yellow as well.
  • YELLOW ONION: White would work as well.
  • BUTTER/OLIVE OIL: I like do to do a combo of both. The butter will help brown the veggies while the olive oil helps prevent the butter from burning.

How do I cook kielbasa, peppers and onions?

Guys, it really could not be easier.

Step #1: Heat the olive oil and butter in a skillet over medium heat. Add onions and peppers. Cook, stirring occasionally until they have softened and started to brown. This will take about 10 minutes.

Step #2: Place the kielbasa, cut side down into the pan. Cook until browned and warmed through. About 5 more minutes. Season to taste with salt and pepper and then serve.

If you’re watching your carb intake, this is great on it’s own served with a side salad. If you’re wanting to make this into a really hearty meal, slather some easy garlic aioli on a toasted hoagie roll and pile the kielbasa, peppers and onions in between the two pieces. Chef’s. Kiss.
