Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium head green cabbage
  • 5 slices thick cut bacon
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • salt and pepper

Instructions

  • Cut bacon into 1-inch diced pieces and cook in a large skillet over medium heat. Use a slotted spoon to transfer the bacon to a paper towel lined plate, reserving the bacon grease in the skillet.
  • To the same skillet that you cooked the bacon, add the chopped cabbage.  Cook until the cabbage starts to wilt and become tender.
  • Add in the vinegar, crushed red pepper, salt and pepper. Continue cooking until the cabbage is tender. About 5 more minutes.
  • Return the cooked bacon to the pan and stir to combine. Transfer to a serving bowl and season to taste with salt and fresh cracked black pepper. Serve immediately.
