Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound dried angel hair pasta
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 medium onion diced
  • 3 cloves garlic diced
  • 1 tablespoon of dried basil
  • 1/8 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 28 ounce can of diced tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon salt for pasta water
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Start the pot of water for your noodles according to the package directions.
  • Meanwhile heat the extra virgin olive oil to a large skillet over medium heat. Once heated, about a minute or so, add onions, garlic, basil and crushed red pepper. Saute until onions and garlic are slightly soft, about 3 minutes. Add the diced tomatoes and salt and pepper, reduce heat to medium-low and simmer while you wait for your noodles to finish.
  • Add noodles to the tomato sauce and stir to combine (Note: Make sure you strain as much water as possible from the noodles before adding them to the sauce). Cook over medium heat until the noodles are warmed through. About 3-5 minutes.
