Herb Mushroom Cheese Bread

An ooey-gooey Herb Mushroom Cheese Bread made with two different kinds of cheese, sautéed mushrooms and fresh thyme. Perfect for game day or girl's night!

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil
  • 3 cups sliced crimini mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves plus more for garnish
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 1 cup shredded swiss cheese
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 loaf french bread 1 whole loaf cut lengthwise

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425 degrees.
  • Heat butter and olive oil in a skillet over medium heat until butter melts. Add in mushrooms and cook, stirring occasionally until the mushrooms start to brown, about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and allow to cool.
  • Combine cooled mushrooms, thyme, mozzarella, swiss, mayonnaise, garlic and black pepper in a bowl. Mix well.
  • Spoon and spread mixture on the bread. Cook in preheated oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until bread starts to brown and cheese is bubbly. Remove from oven, allow to cool several minutes, garnish with fresh thyme leaves, slice and serve.

Notes

If you don't have granulated garlic, you can use garlic powder. If you use garlic salt, use half of the amount because the cheese is salty.
