Chili Cream Cheese Dip

Jump to Recipe

Chili Cream Cheese Dip is the ultimate game day snack! Chili, cream cheese and two kinds of shredded cheese make this hot dip a party appetizer hit!

I don’t know about you but for me, the food at parties is always my favorite part. I love all of the appetizers and you’ll find me hovering over the dips in most cases. And if you’re looking for a recipe that will hit it out of the park, whether it’s a holiday party, a game day celebration or backyard BBQ this Chili Cream Cheese Dip recipe is exactly what you’re looking for.

Not only is it cheesy and decadent but it is also ridiculously easy to make!

What ingredients you’ll need to make cream chili cheese dip:

One of my favorite things about this dip, besides how incredibly easy it is to make, is that it only requires a handful of ingredients and you just might have all of them on hand.

Ingredients for Chili Cream Cheese Dip.
  • CREAM CHEESE: Use full fat for this recipe, it will work the best. You want it ultra creamy.
  • CHILI: You can, of course, make your own homemade chili but for this recipe, I use a can of our favorite chili. It makes it easier. You can use chili with or without beans, the choice is up to you.
  • PEPPER JACK CHEESE: I like to use pepper jack because it adds a touch of heat but not too much. Buy a block and grate it yourself. It will melt better.
  • MEDIUM CHEDDAR: Like the pepper jack, you’re going to want to grate it yourself. If you don’t want the added heat of the pepper jack cheese simply double the amount of cheddar.
  • YELLOW ONION: To me, a bowl of chili is not complete without a sprinkle of chopped yellow onion. This is optional on the dip but I highly recommend it.
  • CILANTRO: Totally optional, I use it more for a pop of color in this recipe.

Step by Step Photos and Instructions:

Unlike other Chili Cheese Dip Recipes, this recipe isn’t done in a slow cooker. It is made on the stovetop and the oven. But don’t let that make you think it’s difficult. It is still an incredibly easy recipe to make.

  • STEP #1: Combine cream cheese and chili together in a small saucepan. Cook until cream cheese melts. Stir in half of the pepper jack/cheddar cheese.
  • STEP #2: Pour mixture into a 9 inch pie pan (or similar sized dish) and sprinkle with remaining cheese. Bake at 350 for 15 min.
  • STEP #3: Top with chopped onion and cilantro, if using. Serve

Storage and Leftovers:

This dip will keep in the refrigerator for a few days and reheats beautifully. When you store it some of the cheese that you melted on top may mix in with the dip, simply grate some more on the top before reheating.

Like I said, this Chili Cream Cheese Dip is a must make for all of your parties. It is great with baguette slices, crackers or tortilla chips. My family loved it and I know yours will too!
