These Garlic Pepper Chicken Wings are just another flavor that we all absolutely adore. But be forewarned, these wings are true to their name and very heavy on the garlic. You’re welcome.
Let’s talk about what you’ll need to make them.
Garlic Pepper Chicken Wings:
CHICKEN WINGS: I use party wings any time that I make chicken wings. That just means that the wings are separated into drums and flats. I find them easier to eat and cook compared to the full chicken wing.
EGG/MILK: You’ll whisk the two together to dunk the chicken wings in. This will help the flour stick to them.
FLOUR: To coat the wings and help them get crispy.
SEASONING SALT: To season the flour.
CANOLA OIL: To drizzle over the flour coated chicken wings before baking. This will help them get browned while they are baking.
OLIVE OIL: The base of the garlic sauce.
GARLIC: I use 6 – 8 large cloves in this recipe. Remember the smaller the mince, the stronger the garlic flavor.
VINEGAR: White wine vinegar adds acidity and brightness to the sauce. If you don’t have white wine vinegar, you can also use distilled vinegar.
BLACK PEPPER: For the best texture, I recommend using freshly ground black pepper.
GRANULATED GARLIC: Will add even more garlic flavor to the sauce. You can also use garlic powder if that is what you have. If you only have garlic salt, omit the additional salt.

Step by Step Photos and Instructions:
Making these Garlic Pepper Chicken Wings is simple! Follow along with these step by step photos and instructions to guide you every step of the way.
Dip in milk and egg wash. Dredge in seasoned flour. Drizzle with canola oil and bake. Turn and bake 15 – 20 minutes. Make sauce. Toss in sauce.
STEP #1: In a bowl whisk together milk and egg. Dip chicken wings into wet mixture.
STEP #2: Combine flour and seasoning salt in a bowl with a lid (or a resealable plastic bag). Place the chicken wings into the bowl and shake to coat. Place on a plate (or baking dish) and let sit for 15 minutes. This will help the flour stick to the wings.
STEP #3: Bake the wings in a single layer on an aluminum foil lined baking sheet (you may need two baking sheets) for 20 minutes. Turn and then bake another 15 – 20 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
STEP #4: When chicken wings are just about done, heat olive oil in a small skillet or saucepan over medium-low heat. Cook garlic 30 seconds – 1 minute or just until fragrant. Remove from the heat and whisk in vinegar, black pepper, salt and granulated garlic.
STEP #5: Place the cooked chicken wings in a bowl, pour the sauce over the top and toss to coat completely. Serve hot.
Storage and Leftovers:
If, and that’s a big if, you have any leftovers, store them in the refrigerator. Reheat in a warm oven until warmed through.

Garlic Pepper Chicken Wings
Garlic Pepper Chicken Wings are crispy, garlicky, peppery and oh so addictive.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil. Set aside.
In a bowl whisk together egg and milk. In a bowl with a lid (or resealable plastic bag) combine flour and seasoning salt. Dip wings in egg mixture then transfer to flour mixture and shake to coat. Transfer to a plate and allow to set for 15 minutes.
Place chicken wings on prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with canola oil. Bake in preheated oven for 20 minutes. Turn and cook for another 15 - 20 minutes or until browned and cooked through.
Meanwhile, heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add in minced garlic and cook just until fragrant, 30 seconds to 1 minute. Remove from heat, add in vinegar, pepper, kosher salt and garlic powder.
Once wings are cooked, use tongs to transfer hot wings to bowl with garlic pepper mixture. Toss to coat. Serve hot.

Looks so good!! I’m not crazy to eat raw garlic, I’m going to brown the garlic and put in there in last min with sauce and wings while garlic still crispy ;)
Hi Ayesha, are you looking to avoid vinegar all together or just white wine vinegar? If you are open to still using vinegar you can use white distilled vinegar. If you want to avoid vinegar you could sub lemon juice that way you will still get the acidity.
These were so delicious! I was totally skeptical about how crispy they would turn out, as I have only used crumbs before to bread, never milk and flour. But wow!! These were crispy and oh so good!
Yum! I just watched a pgm about making Salt and Pepper Chicken (a famous Taiwanese street snack) yesterday. And now, you made Garlic Pepper Chicken. Oh, I want some now.
Merry Christmas Des!! I’m so excited that I found your blog earlier this year. Those chicken wings sound really delicious and loaded with lots of flavor, I’d be picking up the garlic pieces as well!
Merry Christmas to you and your family Des! Thanks for all your yummy recipes you’ve shared this year!
