Pizza Dip

Jump to Recipe

Pizza Dip is an absolute MUST make for anyone that loves all the cheesy saucy goodness of pizza. Perfect for scooping up with crusty bread, breadsticks or crackers.

You guys. THIS. DIP. This dip is so good. I took one bite after baking it, looked at my family and said “this is one of the best things I have made in a long time”. They agreed. It is that good.

It is so cheesy. So saucy. It is everything you love about pizza in a bubbly hot dip form. It is the perfect appetizer for your next party, movie night or game day. Everyone is going to love it. Trust me.

Let’s talk about everything that you’re going to need to make it.

Pizza Dip Ingredients:

Overhead photos of pizza dip ingredients on white background.

CREAM CHEESE: While not a traditional ingredient for pizza, cream cheese is used as the bottom layer of the dip. This makes the dip ultra creamy and easy to scoop. Make sure that it is at room temperature.

PIZZA SAUCE: I highly recommend using my Easy Pizza Sauce recipe. It is my absolute favorite pizza sauce of all time! If you don’t want to make your own, you can use your favorite jar of pizza sauce.

MOZZARELLA: I like to freshly shred mozzarella whenever I make pizza and this pizza dip is no exception. Freshly shredded mozzarella tastes better and melts better in my opinion.

PARMESAN CHEESE: Like the mozzarella, use freshly shredded parmesan. It’ll taste better than the pre-grated stuff. Trust me!

PEPPERONI: This recipe calls for two types of pepperoni. Sliced pepperoni and a chub of pepperoni that you’ll cut into small pieces. This helps ensure that there is pepperoni in every bite of the dip.

DRIED OREGANO: Our favorite pizza place always sprinkles a bit of dried oregano over the freshly baked pizza and it’s one of my favorite things about it so I highly recommend adding it.

FRESH BASIL: Adds a pop of color and sweet basil flavor.

Step by Step Photos and Instructions:

Pizza Dip is SO easy to make. Just follow along with these step by step photos and instructions.

STEP #1: Use a hand mixer to beat the cream cheese until smooth.

STEP #2: Add 1/4 cup of mozzarella, 1/4 cup parmesan and dried oregano to cream cheese. Mix well.

STEP #3: Spread the cream cheese mixture on the bottom of a 9 inch pie dish.

STEP #4: Top with pizza sauce. Use a spatula to completely cover the cream cheese with the sauce.

STEP #5: Top with remaining mozzarella and pepperoni. Bake at 350 degrees.

STEP #6: Top with 2 tablespoons Parmesan. Broil 1 minute.

STEP #7: Sprinkle with fresh basil and dried oregano. Serve immediately with baguette slices, crackers or breadsticks.

I opted to use pepperoni because that is our favorite pizza topping. You could use your favorite pizza toppings! Just make sure that if you choose vegetables that they are sliced thin. This will ensure that they cook through during the cooking time.

Toasted baguette slices are the perfect vehicle for scooping up pizza dip. You could also use bread sticks, tortilla chips or crackers.
