While I have always been a fan of holidays, I must say celebrating holidays with a toddler around is so much more fun. The wonderment. The excitement. The pure joy on their faces. I can’t get enough!
Take Easter for instance. When I was a kid Easter was a much more of a who ha. There was dying of eggs. Easter baskets. Easter egg hunts. But once I grew up and moved out, Easter was never really much of a big deal in our home. We would make a small dinner but that was about it. But now that Kellan is here there is all kinds of excitement again.
We’ll be dying eggs. We’ll be having an Easter egg hunt. And I cannot wait to put together Kellan’s Easter basket and I only wish you could see his face when I ask him what the Easter bunny is going to bring him. He lights up and says “EGGS! And CANDY! And TOYS! And a SUCKER!” It is just darling.
I’m sure he would also love if the Easter bunny brought him one of these Robin’s Egg Chocolate Milkshakes. He already helped me devour it when I made it last weekend. I don’t blame him though. It is full of chocolate ice cream and my favorite Easter candy ever, Robin’s Eggs. And I’m pretty sure I don’t need to tell you how well chocolate and malt go together.
It’s a quick and easy treat, that I plan to make again and again until Easter.
Combine chocolate ice cream, 12 robin's egg candies and 1/4 cup milk together in a blender. Blend until smooth. If it's too thick add remaining milk and continue to blend until smooth.
Crush remaining 3 robin's eggs and sprinkle over the top of the milkshake. Serve.
