Apple Cider Vinaigrette

Jump to Recipe

Apple Cider Vinaigrette is a tangy salad dressing made with apple cider vinegar, olive oil, garlic, dijon and maple syrup. Great any time of year, but especially fall!

When you need a quick salad dressing or marinade at the last minute, vinaigrettes are always the way to go. They are packed with flavor and can be made in less than 5 minutes. They are a great way to dress your salads, marinate chicken or to brush on grilled vegetables.

And not only are there many different uses for vinaigrettes, there are also so many ways to make them your own. You can make a Garlic Vinaigrette, Pesto Vinaigrette, Sesame Vinaigrette, the options are really endless. All you need to do is change out the vinegar you use as well as a couple ingredients and bam, an entirely new flavor profile.

This version is an Apple Cider Vinaigrette that is tangy, and one of my favorite dressings to drizzle over fall salads. Let’s talk about what you’ll need to make it.

Apple Cider Vinaigrette Ingredients:

  • APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Obviously, the star of the show here. Apple cider vinegar is made from fermented apple cider and has a sweet flavor and golden color.
  • EXTRA VIRGIN OLIVE OIL: I love using EVOO in my salad dressings. In vinaigrettes, using oil helps emulsify the ingredients.
  • DIJON MUSTARD: Adds a tangy, slightly spicy flavor.
  • GARLIC: The garlic will be raw in this recipe so I really recommend only using a single small clove. Otherwise you run the risk of overpowering the rest of the flavors in the dressing.
  • MAPLE SYRUP: Adds sweetness to the dressing and the maple pairs perfectly with the apple cider vinegar.
  • SALT/PEPPER

Step by Step Photos and Instructions:

Making vinaigrettes is SO easy. All you need to do is whisk until everything is emulsified and voila! Dressing.

Storage and Leftovers:

Keep vinaigrette stored in the refrigerator. Let it come to room temperature and shake before serving.

This Apple Cider Vinaigrette is great on salads of course but would also make a great marinade for chicken or drizzled over grilled vegetables.
