Figs weren’t always something that I would reach for in the grocery store. And if we’re being honest, I’m not too crazy about dried figs. But FRESH figs. Oh that is where it’s at. Enjoying them by themselves or my personal favorite way Fig and Goat Cheese Bites. They are also great roasted with baked brie and of course, fig jam.
So let’s talk about what you need to make it.
Fig Jam Ingredients:

Jam is a great way to really let the main ingredient flavor shine. For that reason, you’ll only need a few ingredients for this recipe.
- FIGS: You can use fresh or frozen figs for this recipe. Black or green figs. I used green figs so that is why my jam is a bit lighter than you’re used to. If you use black figs your jam will be a rich purple/redish color.
- SUGAR: Granulated sugar will add sweetness as well as help the jam set.
- LEMON JUICE: Adds acidity and helps the jam set.
- WATER
