If you’re short on time but still craving a perfectly fluffy baked potato, look no further than Instant Pot Baked Potatoes. Done in a fraction of the time they are the perfect side dish!

Love baked potatoes but hate how long it takes to actually bake them? Well guess what! I’ve got the perfect solution for you: the Instant Pot.

That’s right, you can make baked potatoes in the instant pot in a fraction of the time it takes to make them in the oven. Sure, you can make them in the microwave but I always find the texture a bit off. Not so with pressure cooker baked potatoes.

And extra bonus, if it’s a summer day and you don’t want to heat up your house or it’s a day where you just need your oven for something else, making them in the Instant Pot solves both of those problems!

And guys, they are SO fluffy!

Instructions for making baked potatoes in the Instant Pot:

It could NOT be easier.

STEP 1: Use a fork to poke holes in the potatoes. I usually do three pokes. Poking the potatoes with forks is an important step because it allows the steam to escape the potatoes while they are cooking. This helps prevent the potatoes from splitting while cooking.

STEP 2: Pour cold water into the Instant Pot.

STEP 3: Place potatoes on the trivet in the Instant Pot. Cover and seal the pot.

DES TIP: The trivet is important because if the potatoes touch the water the skin will get soggy.

STEP 4: Cook potatoes for 13 minutes. Once the potatoes are done allow the pressure cooker to release the pressure naturally for another 10 minutes.

STEP 5: The potatoes will be very hot so be sure to use tongs to remove them from the instant pot. Let them cool a few minutes before cutting. Fluff with fork and top with your favorite toppings

DES’ TIP: If you’ve got smaller potatoes they will only take about 10 minutes. Larger potatoes (usually called baking potatoes in the grocery store) will take about 20.

See! So easy! I’m not sure I’ll ever make baked potatoes in the oven again, this is just so easy!
